Well, I managed to treat the petrol tank with the POR15 kit and that went very well.
Less encouraging was the lack of any further progress on the paint work due to staff problems at the body shop
Today we withdrew the distributor driveshaft, using a tool made by Pete's friend for us, reset it to the correct angle for a Type 3 engine, rather than type1, rigged up fuel and electrics and then it started first time. This is great as the engine has been stood since its total strip and rebuild 3 years ago. It sounded great and all that was needed was a small adjustment to the carb.
